If you’re ever in the area of Lexington, NC, of BBQ fame, then you absolutely must find the small alley labeled as Court Street and search for the big, pink door at its center. Inside, you’ll find one of the best indie bookstores in North Carolina–one run by a bookstore owner who understands the importance of independent bookstores in a community.
I want to thank Sedley Abercrombie for hosting me along with talented North Carolina authors Charlie Lovett, Valerie Nieman, Grace Marcus, and Al Sirois for one of the coolest book events I’ve ever had the opportunity to be a part of. Enjoy some highlights (below) from Pig City’s first annual Holiday Parade of Authors, where readers from the immediate community were able to enter different rooms of the store and engage in personal, literary discourse with their favorite local authors. It was an absolute blast, folks, and it served as a sterling reminder to me of why I continue to walk the writing journey I’m currently on.
I hope you’ll pay a visit to Pig City Books, where you can find signed copies of my two most recent novels, ON THE WAY TO BIRDLAND and BREAKING NEWS. Happy reading, y’all!
