On Thursday night, I had a chance to descend on my favorite local, independent bookstore to release a new novel. It was the fourth time in the past five years that I was able to release a new book at Sunrise Books in High Point, NC, and it was another night where my heart overflowed with all the love, joy, and inspiration I receive from my readers. It was my first opportunity to read in the voices of all three of my middle school aged narrators in front of a live audience, and I loved every second of it including the many seconds I spent gobbling down bookish-themed cupcakes between Q&A questions. I want to thank Angel Schroeder, the owner of Sunrise Books, for being an ever-gracious host, and I want to thank all of the readers who made it out to the shop to talk about BREAKING NEWS, the importance of critical thinking in our modern, technology-driven age, and to just bask in the glory of books.
