COVER REVEAL: On the Way to Birdland (YA Fiction)

I’m so excited to release my new young adult novel, ON THE WAY TO BIRDLAND (releases May 4, 2021 from FOW Books), out into the world. Today, I get to give you a little snippet of why I’m so proud of this work and why I think the story will captivate readers of all ages…because today I get to reveal to y’all one of the most beautiful YA covers I’ve seen in a long time. Massive thanks goes out to Bailey @ Bailey Designs Books for her brilliant work on this design, and for developing every square inch of it based on her own reading of the novel instead of basing it off second-hand directions from a terrible visual artist like myself. So, without further delay, here are the front and back covers of On the Way to Birdland, a novel that holds a special place in my heart and has a visceral connection to my adopted hometown of High Point, North Carolina:

On the Way to Birdland (set to release on May 4, 2021 from FOW books) follows the impromptu road trip of a teen struggling with PTSD and a massive shakeup in his family structure.

This young man, Cordy Wheaton, sets out on his own to find a missing brother in the grips of addiction, holding nothing but forty bucks in his pocket, a sterling knowledge of philosophy and mythology, and his one, true guide in life: his hometown hero, legendary jazz musician, John Coltrane. It’s a modern-day Odyssey up the East Coast with a teenage Odysseus who has never left the confines of his comfortable neighborhood in rural North Carolina.
